Although industrial stakeholders are one of the large producers of PFAS, it is important to note that they are not the only source of PFAS in the influent to a wastewater treatment plant. Consumer products produced by these industries, such as non-stick cookware, stain repellant, and personal care products are all different sources of PFAS as well (California State Water Resources Control Board, 2020). Even with regulation on industries to remove PFAS from the waste created at their plants, the products produced and utilized by the public would still provide a major source of PFAS in the influent the wastewater plant.

so what is the sustainable solution to this issue?

Thank you
