i want to make a simulink model with a conveyor belt and a motor, which drive this conveyor.
I wanted to calculate the speed of the conveyor with the formula
v=2*pi*n*M/(Fw+Fa), Fw is the resistivity and Fa is the resistivity during the acceleration.
My question is, have i to account the inertia of the conveyor belt?
If yes, should it be in the induction motor model (Jm+Jl) ,with
Jl = 60kNm or is the above formula wrong, because it doesnt account the inertia?

For small conveyor belt and high inertia load some time the conveyor belt inertia can be neglected. Otherwise the conveyor belt inertia adds as an additional inertial load (Jm+Jl+Jlb).

I want give you the answer from two perspectives;
1) the inertia of the belt can be neglected because its value is very low compared with motor and the load.
2) I want know what are 'n' and 'M' mean? Because I recommend using the speed of motor to calculate the conveyor speed, rather than using
inertia.

The M and n means the torque and rotational speed.
Should the inertia of the conveyor (not only the belt) be as one of the input values, like rotor resistance in the induction motor model?
