In my opinion, there is nothing that can motivate people to adhere to health guidelines, at least in our country, except for imposing fines or legal accountability, because we really see indifference to the situation and it is actually getting worse day after day. Human by nature tends to everything that prevents him. But at the same time in our countries, we cannot blame the people for that, especially those who seek to earn their livelihood and the sustenance of their families day by day. We see those people treat the issue naturally because what they suffered from hardship in life, in my opinion, is more ferocious than this virus. Therefore, there must be alternative solutions, and for those people, there must be what meets their needs their families in order to ask them to abide by the instructions, life is harsh and unfortunately, its cruelty is worse for the poor, with great regret.

I think a type of " jacket" can be designed that is fitted with an optical sensor that monitors the face area of the wearing person, and also fitted with a proximity sensor such that whenever two such individuals wearing such jacket comes in proximity lesser than the social distancing threshold or the optical sensor detects no mask..an alarm will go off and keep ringing till the proximity and/mask wearing criteria is met....such a designed jacket can be distributed to the population and properly enforced that the jacket be worn at all times in public places.

However, cost factor and size of the population is the most important factor in this case..alternatively awareness can be achieved through public announcements and visual displays on hoardings installed at public places.

Nice question, the main reason behind the scene is, still our community doesn't accept that there is corona. if you survey your local community 95% of the people will tell you there is no corona exist. The best thing is, to aware people through social media of the consequences of getting this detrimental virus into the body.

Fear will motivate people to wear masks. The truth is that people have seen that Covid-19 is not as deadly as previously thought; this reduces the fear of Covid-19. Your chance of survival is 9 times higher than your chance of dying from the disease. Less fear, less tendency to wear masks.

Government can also pay people to wear masks

I might suggest that new mask models be designed for true comfort and ease of talking. People, like any other organism, are drawn towards the way of the least resistance; if wearing a mask prevents someone from breathing easily or be understood, seen or recognised, they will be much more likely to take off the mask or wear it improperly. A significantly upgraded mask design might prevent those who are prone to incorrect mask wearing to have no reasons left to do so.

As a side note, we've already seen this approach has started to develop organically within certain communities. Deaf and hard-of-hearing persons have started to wear clear plastic masks or masks with a clear window in them, as facial expressions and lip reading are crucial means of communication for them.

I think that most governments have done the necessary precaution measures. But still something missing in the chain. There should be a mutual trust between people and governments. Most people, especially in the third world, do not trust governments and this is something important.

Thank you very much for our agreement with my suggestion to use the expression physical or spatial distancing instead of the expression social distancing. Social distancing reminds me of a misnomer. Actually, even in times of confinement, the fact that we cannot visit our relatives or friends, they remain, say, in our heart and mind even though they are not close to us in spatial terms. Even though the pandemic outburst is being a disaster for the whole humanity, it has ironically some positive aspects. One of them is that its occurrence united people and countries to defeat the same enemy.

Those who are citizens of the world use masks to protect their own and others' health, namely the one that is due to COVID-19.

The designer that I mention previously mask is actually to boost up the motivation and influences, yes it's quite pricey at early launch but once people start the trend and innovation, the price will be reduced. I understand it's about behavior but to make people follow the rules they should have motivation and influence. So I'm looking at this angle. It's the same when we as Muslims in Malaysia start wearing head-scarf, when it's trendy, comfortable, and Syariah compliance, we can influence people to wear it. The same goes for the mask. For the poor, of cause, the government needs to subsidize the mask but we should think this way, mask for now is like our cloth. You wear to protect and cover yourself, for me what I'm wearing must be comfortable, presentable and can protect me.
