In Australia many people are still worried about the health impacts of drinking recycled water, even though the science says it is completely safe. So the politicians do not want to implement it. I know that Singapore is a good example of a public awareness campaign to help the community accept drinking recycled water. I am wondering, in your country:
1. Do people drink recycled water? Has there been any problems at all?
2. What is the community perception on drinking recycled water?
In the Netherlands people do not drink recycled water, apart from a very small group of environmentally-aware people, drinking it from bottles to support the environment. I think that the people here would react as the Australians. I also think that it depends very much on the way this water is presented to the public. A large part of the water we drink here (in Rotterdam for instance) is river-water stored in large open-air containers and then purified. We could call this water recycled as well, considering that rivers are not so clean in general, but in this case the people do not perceive it as recycled.

Here in Algeria, the recycled water is not used for drinking. It is rather used in industry or irrigation.

In Bangladesh river water recycling is used for municipal water supply in Dhaka city. After boiling or filtration people use it for drinking purpose. But in the slum areas people are affected by water born diseases because they don't have the facility to treat the supplied water. So the community perception is negative.
