I personally prefer ISIF=2 so that the volume of the supercell will stay constant. This makes comparison with other systems easier since I am assured that they will have the same supercell shape and volume. However, I feel that constraining the volume during system relaxation adds artificial stress or pressure in structure since the atoms are constrained only to a certain volume. However, if I allow the supercell to relax in volume and shape, would it make sense to compare it with other systems which whose supercell volume and shape was allowed to relax? From what I understand, systems with different supercell shape and volume should never be compared. Thanks,
