The impact of automation is not going to happen in future - it is right here now! In this regard, how can we educate our kids/students/learners meaningfully without letting their time go to waste?

Even though it is true that white-collar jobs will dramatically change since automation, AI, machine learning and several other technologies re-shape the business landscape, we are not educating neither preparing our youth to deal with what is already here much less the changes that are coming. Having said that, I deeply believe we should be reinventing education from scratch. Over the last more or less 700 years we have been using the same methods, classroom and professoral approach. There are exceptions in some countries and/or universities/schools but the system itself is relying on the traditional approach and as a whole we are not successfully preparing our students anymore. We need to refocus the way we work with them moving towards an experiential approach combining technology, social experiences, execution (learning by doing) with the guidance & experience of Professors who might be prepare to work more like mentors. We need to develop problem solvers ready jump into completely new problems or unsolved ones, capable of interacting with others no matter the environment, culture, age, etc, combining skills & execution. One route to approach this is to use an entrepreneurial journey to develop the soft skills needed also working on community & team building that is exactly what I am working on right now.
Remembering facts will be less important. Ability to use computers at expert level will become much more even much more important than it is now.
