Hello Manish; Here is a layout for a pilot study.

1. Lay out a south-facing transect at a particular elevation. Select sites that have various slopes. Lay out a plot and then count the density of your target species. Repeat along transect.

2. Repeat the routine at another elevation...etc.

Elevation definitely affects species distributions in alpine zones. Slopes are unstable and will also have an effect on species occurrence, also mainly in alpine or rocky habitats. Slope is not the same as aspect though :)
