Stating abstract theories, we can assign any truth-value to each membership relation.
A different situation occurs in the real world. For instance, if E denotes the set of all old men, the membership relation "John belong to E" is ambiguous unless John is a very aged man. Accordingly for a man of 55 y.o the membership relation can be fuzzy.
By contrast, if E denotes the set of all men older than 50 years, since this definition is accurate and ambiguity-free, the membership relation "John belong to E" hardly can be regarded as a fuzzy one. It can be either true or false exclusively. Nowadays, fuzzy set topic is of great interest in mathematical literature. Perhaps, language structure should be considered too.
