In ABAQUS, when you conducting a impact simulation, major process was happened on normal direction. For example, we set up 22 as the normal direction and let one particle impact on a substrate along 22 direction. During the whole impingement process, what kind of stress can contribute to S22?
The reason I asked this is that I set the normal strength between objects as 325MPa, but, my final stable S22 value far beyond 325MPa. Therefore, I though that S22 can be a blend stress, constituted by multiply stress origins, and these stresses can all make a contribution to the normal direction. Therefore, the S22 is not same as my normal strength. What do you think?
