This is a big problem not only in Morocco. The hierarchy once kojażona was with the knowledge acquired over the years, the older the more valued. Of course, in some ways I agree, someone who has experienced 50 years of experience and know autopsy much more than the one that has the 30s does not mean that in any case, is more experienced than the young man, because different chen experience and expertise in life situations. The science is a little different, often young people have great ideas and solutions limitless imagination, what they appreciate and try to awaken. A bit of the element of faith and creativity of these young people is increasing. Often, older scientists are concerned that creativity is apparent RES unnecessary comparisons like: I like I was your age ... should be put on youth and fresh spojżenie the world and new solutions. Regards
If we focus on the second part of the question, the challenge could be threefold, the student needs to find innovative ways to present their ideas, supervisors recognition of passive engagement with subject as opposed to being active and the educational system and its flexibility on newly invented matters.
The student's knowledge of competence must go beyond the supervisor know why? Because what is provided by the supervisor of the student is an innovative subject. Student must looking and verified and adds to this subject a lot else is receiving a high degree subject of doubt. because competence is not for the supervisor as well as accumulated experience for supervisors of Graduate Studies.
In 2015, students can know more information and details than their supervisors , why there is always this hierarchy that kills science and creativity?
In my personal view on doctorate studies, students should always know more than their supervisors. Because the students supposed to be the subject matter expert / specialist in his or her area of research. Whereas their supervisors are experienced researchers that play the role to guide the students on the right track to complete their research.
Thank you for sharing your opinions with us, here, in my opinion when I see every day a supervisor who underestimate his students, and who believes to have all the knowledge in his head about his specialty, and when he terrorize his students because they have made a mistake or whatever, while sometimes it is the teacher who made the error and continues to pass his mistakes to others and he does not give a chance to students to express themselves, I noticed this especially in the university hospitals.
I agree with Han. While the student may know the subject matter, he/she lacks the "research" experience, so there is some balance between student and supervisor and not "hierarchy" per se.
