I am relatively new to abaqus and am having trouble implementing the umat sanisand04 as the material property into abaqus.
From what I have been able to gather, the umat can be loaded in the jobs module and the material properties defined by creating a user material.
Still isnt working. How is this done? Has anyone successfully ran sanisand in abaqus??? Id love to know how you did it
You need to provide the inp and log files if you want any help,
make sure the user material you define in abaqus has the correct number of state variables and you understand the constants that you introduce.
You can introduce write(*,*) statements in the umat for simple debug, so you can see if the program is entering the umat and reaching the end of it, or, if failing, where that happens.

The umat can be directly implemented for your material property in the .inp file. In place of material assignment, you call your file that has the material properties (state variables and constants)
