Based on the CGE modelling, a researcher from Ministry of Finance Indonesia predicts that the impact of Corona to the Indonesian economy transmits through four main channels: international trade, aviation and hotels (tourism), household consumption, and international oil price. As for tourism, Covid-19 would reduce aviation and hotel sector by 5% and decrease economic growth by 0.09%.

No doubt, the pendemic is having a major impact on many areas, including tourism. I believe it would also affect people's psycholgical status whe it is over; I'm thinking of trauma and Coid-19.

Tourism, the sector of tourism services in the economy is one of those types of economic activity which is most negatively and negatively affected by the current SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) coronavirus pandemic. Consequently, countries where tourism, hotel, catering, cultural, transport, etc. services are most affected by the economic crisis caused by the current SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) pandemic. Therefore, state aid for this type of economic activity is necessary in order to limit the scale of bankruptcy by tourist companies and to reduce the scale of the increase in unemployment.

Yes, Dariusz, I totally agree with you on government help to this sector, but other sectors also need financial support to cope with this pandemic.

The pandemic has negatively affected tourism in the world.

As an experiment a Greek island has allowed 180 tourists to arrive and stay within the boundary of a hotel for 2 weeks to see if this attempt on tourism will work without spreading the virus. So far so good.

Tourism industry is badly affected due to COVID-19 pandemic throughout the world including India.

The pandemic has been going on for almost a year and a half, and despite the summer and holiday season starting, many companies from the tourism sector still record a much lower level of turnover and revenues from the sale of certain tourist services. Some restrictions on economic activity, partial lockdowns, are still in place. The currently (early summer 2021) rising levels of new infections caused by a new Indian variant of the Coronavirus, designated Delta, are worrying. In the next few weeks, another, fourth wave of the SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) coronavirus pandemic is possible, which may again have a serious negative impact on companies and enterprises in the tourism sector.

A review of historic trends in foreign and domestic tourism in Pakistan with the aim to calculate expected loss due to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

As per estimate, during 2012-19, Pakistan invested more than 90 billion of rupees on motorways, hotels, parks and archeological sites and was looking forward toward 2020 summer season for some betterment in tourism, but COVID-19 appeared on the world horizon and all sorts of economic activities, including tourism were brought to zero. During 1994-2019 tourism contributed 5.7 to 7.1 % to the gross domestic products (GDP) of Pakistan. The loss is equivalent to US$ 20.18 billion.
