As Marcella, I think, your issue is the background.
Unfortunately ferrite samples contain Fe and thus, when dealing with a Cu tube, you may suffer from background due to Fe K-fluorescence; unless you make use of some kind of monochromator in front of the detector.
Another way to get rid of the Fe fluorescence background is to use for example a Co, Fe or Cr source. The photon energy of their K-lines are lower than the K-edge energy of Fe, and thus no K-shell excitation of Fe will occur...
