If you are the decision maker of promotions in my country, I would like to rephrase the concept of the scientific promotions of the professors, and to add new determinants beside the main parameter (number of scientific research), the new additions relate to the scientific biography of the professor, his professional service associated with his scientific and professional activities, and its administrative contribution to solving the problems of the State and society sectors ,next to other parameters. It should not limit the promotion in the field of scientific research completed, knowing that there are professors who receive the promotion without any scientific contribution to research, just add a name in the list of contributors to the research.

Long ago when I taught , my only asset were my students . All I wanted is for them to get good scores and analyze and think like me !!!

I was never into designations nor into money . I would take up training assignments in the Industry and make good sum of money !! So teaching was only for me to keep my basic understanding alive ...

Now, do we need it , I am sure we do ...

Yet , all comes back to one thing are we approachable teachers no matter what our designation is ?!?

I would demand that those who obtain the title of researcher, professor or scientist and professional of some discipline; had a solid background, which was able to put at stake his cognitive and affective intelligence to solve problems, create knowledge and innovate technology for the benefit of society.

This will only be achieved by teachers who are able to avoid rote and do not opt for teaching as a special method to learn. Rather, guide and inform students to promote their learning with meaning and for life, not for the classroom or to pass exams.

It is required to be very strong at basics and work for the activity with sincere efforts so that you investigate the cause for that behavior or outcome..... develop and continue your efforts remaining will fallow....

With out dedication and sacrifice it is not possible for reaching heights....

1.To be the owner of a scientific project.

2.Has the ability to guide and scientific guidance.

Yes you need:

1-at less 6 hour in week teaching (theory or practical) for at less 5 months .

2- at less three researches in your field if you at college and at less 5 researches if you at Research Center

3- at less one of your researches must be Individual Search.

4- at less one of your researches must publishing in foregin journals not in Iraq.

5-Evaluation of university performance must be at least 70% for four consecutive years.

6-There are no administrative penalties.

Thanks for the question. I believe that a good student can be a good researcher. So, I like to improve research skills of students when they are in the classroom for teaching. Why? Because, student must make innovation, improvement of processes or results and therfore they need skills of reasearcher.
