If we add PEG 400 (polyethylene glycol) and KOH (potassium hydroxide) to a mineral oil polluted with PCB (polychlorinated biphenyls) while heating to 75°C, there will necessarily be a nucleophilic substitution effect. If i repeat the experiment under UVC radiation, is that will accelerate the dechlorination reaction ?
