In the context of DREADDs and optogenetics, I was wondering what happens at the single-cell level when you infect an animal with an AAV of a higher titer. I understand that the rate of infection can increase, but if multiple AAV particles penetrate a single cell, can they each insert their copy of the DNA sequence into the host's genome? If so, would a higher titer translate to a greater number of the desired receptor at the cell membrane?
