Some patients have been infected for the second time after recovering from the novel coronavirus .. How will the expected vaccines protect us from infection?? with the possibility of the second infection?
The antibody created in the body of each infected patient is in fact a specific (monoclonal) antibody, and mutations in the genome sequence of the virus are likely. The vaccine should cover the entire range of virus genes (polyclonal antibody).
That is a good questions and as mentioned above we don't know clearly the answer. But you are right that there are a few reports of second infection or recovered patients showing positive for virus. These are not good signs for an effective vaccine. We all are waiting for more information to be sure.
Absolutely you are right, actually the immunity varies with individual spectrum of immunity.. That fails to develop memory B cells and T cells.. May be due multiple antigenic system.. Unfortunately the antibody titer after recovery of primary infection also very less.. On other hand mutation of viral genome is very frequently observed which may lead to loss of immune cell function leads to collapse.. However, here vaccines are mainly targeting spikes protein to prevent the entry through ACE2 receptors... Hope for the best
