I'm using questionnaire for my research and mean (average) as my data analysis. I'm wondering how to calculate the reliability and validity of my data.
Yes, it need to check how much you results are reliable. You can use inter rater reliability test or any other test depends on task.. And for validity there is conclusion validity where you need to is your conclusion are valid for your perticular task. I would suggest please read atleast one paper on research method. There is also some test like chi2 can be useful for your questionaire data.
If you would like to address the reliability of given data or a system or a component, basically, the data will follow a certain distribution like (Exponential, Normal, Weibull). to my knowledge, first identify the distribution that followed by the data you have. correspondingly you can use the required reliability function to calculate the reliability. In order to calculate the reliability, you can use Minitab software. For validating data, you can choose regression analysis, best fit or find a good literature paper and use that data as a reference to validate.
