Although commercial kits for STR markers are available for human identification, designing primers for STR markers is essential for linkage analysis. Identifying these markers can be challenging since they are not readily available in databases like NCBI. Therefore, I am eager to understand the process of identifying STR markers for a specific locus. Once the STR region is identified, designing primers for that particular STR becomes straightforward. Assistance from experts in this field would be greatly appreciated.
