Hello colleagues,

During my research on zooplankton in coastal areas affected by anthropogenic pressure, I collected this copepod near the brine discharge point of a seawater desalination plant located on the Algerian coast.

Among the harpacticoid copepods observed under a light microscope, I encountered a distinctive specimen showing strong red transverse stripes across its body, resembling a "zebra" pattern. The body is dorsoventrally flattened, robust, with visible setae and segmented appendages.

Has anyone come across this pigmentation pattern or similar taxa? Could anyone help confirm the identification or suggest relevant literature or taxonomic keys?

Thank you in advance for your insights!
