it will depend on the oil phase, however, solubility in ethanol is somewhat higher, further ethanol has markedly higher compatibility with solvents used as oil phase (alkanes, triglycerides).

actually I have used and tried both DMSO and ethanol differently almost about 20 different experiments with different surfactant's and co-surfactants
the best for black seed oil and thymoquinone nanoemulsion is DMSO
i am measuring the size of particles with zetasizer till now its perfect I will just have to use hplc then be sure about the efficiency.

It is important that you follow the evolution of particle size. If you have formulated correctly, this should not change with time. Re surfactants, itlooks like you have already found the good ones. In any case remember tat polymeric surfactants (i.e. those with multiple anchoring point and stabiizing tails) give better stabilisation against coalescence due to interparticles collision and give a better surface coverage that should reduce Ostwald ripening;
