Why not study transgenic plants producing proteins for treatment of diseases. Examples: specific antibodies , antigens for vaccines, hormones (erythropoietin, insulin,somatotropin) or interferon alpha. For proteins that need glycosylation for their activity it is also possible to introduce in such plants enzymes that are going to "humanize" the peptides.
