you can cut a fragment of paper and boil in water briefly and use a robust polymerase to amplify the supernatant directly. If you use KOD polymerase or one of many mutated polymerases which are resistant to inhibitors then just cut a tiny slice of paper and drop it in the pcr tube and amplify directly

Hi! I´m working with the FTA cards too and I found in internet the Patent and (probably) the contents for the FTA wash reagent:

"Per 500 ml: 0.29 g NaCl; 5 ml 1 M Tris pH 7.5; 1 ml 0.5 M EDTA; 2.5 ml TRITON-X-100 (t-Dctylphenoxypolyethoxyethanol), a non-ionic surfactant."

Obviously you can't sell it, but maybe it works great in the laboratory.
