For determination of quality of water for irrigation it should be determine salinity and alkalinity. For salinity, less than EC 4 dSM-1 and alkalinity RSC less than 2.5 mel-1. For RSC determination, Ca + Mg, Carbonate and bicarbonate must be examine.
There are methods in APHA's (American Public Health Association) 'Standard Methods for Water and Wastewater'. I don't remember a specification for irrigation water.
