so which is the best method of calibration to measure carbons content after adsorption: Multiple point calibration from one standard solution or Multiple point calibration from multiple standard solutions?
There is a section in the USP on calibration of a TOC analyzer. I seem to recall Sucrose was 1 of the standards. You can perform a serial dilution with water to set up a linearity curve.
You used TOC to attempt to measure octane? Why? Octane is a series of specific alkanes; they do not completely oxidize under standard TOC conditions. Octane analysis should be done by GC, and absolutely NOT by TOC.
