I want to plot the skin friction lines on the upper surface of a wing, so that I can locate the flow separation regions. How can I do this in Tecplot. I have pressure and velocity information in my file.
Do you have cell centered data or face centered. If you have cell center then calculate shear stress using velocity gradient and then calculate the skin friction write the data on face centered only for the wing surface. With volumetric data you cannot plot on surface. You have to write separate surface data.
I know this is extremely late to respond. But I just saw your question popping up in a google search about oil-flow visualization/surface streamlines plotting routines.
Tecplot recently put out a video that explains the procedure to plot the surface streamlines from CFD simulations. It is fairly simple and uses the same procedure as Vignesh Ram explained.
