I have used the vacuum oven for drying but it contaminates the surface due to presence of DMSO thereby creating problem. Any convenient method on how to dry the organogel would be really helpful.
Dear Kankana Baruah, you can use freeze-drying, but you first have to check if the type of gel you are dealing with is not sensitive to this process. Some gels loose part or total of their main morphological structure. My Regards

Freeze drying can wrk. Also - If you can put the gel into dialysis tubing you can dialyze it. The filled tubing goes into a large container of water; the gel as a high MW substance stays inside, water and dmso psd through. You exchange the water a few times, removing the dmso each time. When done you dry in vacuum as before but there is no dmso to interfere.
Thank you @Abdelkader BOUAZIZ for the suggestion. But i think freeze drying will also contaminate the surface due to the solvent DMSO. Hence i did not went for it.
Dear Kankana Baruah, I don't think so. I have a book where freeze-drying is applied to pharmaceutical products, which are more concerned by high purity. I think it worths to give it a try and see. My Regards
