I have high concentration of ammonia in my feed. I am using SBR and getting 100% nitrification but not getting 100% denitrification. Please help?

Hello Ramez

I am providing only required oxygen for nitrification. I have provided excess O2 by factor of safety but not more than that.

Of course DO will seize the denitrification and I have taken into the consideration that factor. The design is for municipality and cost is my major factor of concern. Just wondering if any modification in process parameter or any cost efficient additional option in case if you can help?

Of course there are potentially many factors that I am unfamiliar with for your system. However, just on a big picture level, it would seem that there is not enough BOD for the amount of denitrification required (based on the initial BOD/ammonium-N ratio), if this is a classic nitrification/denitrification system. Could that be the problem? Good luck in any case!
