I heard that it is possible to get doi through research gate. I tried to do it following some advices. But the page looks different from the example I tried to follow and I cannot find, how to ask to generate doi for my article
Guzel - it is the publishing companies that supply a Doi reference. It has nothing to do with ResearchGate. They track the published Doi once they are published and try to link it to your account where they can. The other issue here is that journal articles are usually allocated a Doi - but conference papers (depending on the quality of the conference) are often not allocated them. I would hazard a guess and say that your conference was not linked as an academic journal article. Many are not.
Thanks for the prompt answer! As far as I could understand, doi can be genarated for any data deposeted in INTERNET and it has nothing to do with its quality. I just looked for the way to do it and found information that research gate can be the way to get doi for conference paper (not for article in the journals). I found instruction telling how to ask for generating DOI for my publication and this was told to be done at research gate. It just did not work in my case. Although I saw "generate doi' when submitted by conference paper, I failed to activate it.
Hi Guzel, You can also publish your conference paper on a Preprint Server like PeerJ [ https://peerj.com/preprints ]. That will allocate you a DOI. BW Matt
