Domenico, if you are talking about the three-segmented triangles then I am pretty sure it is not a ciliate. Vorticella never unites like that and it is too transparent also. Maybe just a segment from a bigger metazoan?
No. I refer to the dark object on the lower right corner. The crenellated top might be the crown of cilia and i seem to detect a vague outline od the spasmonema below and to the right of the supposed main body.
I think that the transparent segments that are in the middle may be hydroid polyps and the dark object in the lower right corner looks like it may be a ciliate.
Cammie: I cannot see any structure inside those transparent structures. I tend to think they might be empty loricae of some peritrich ciliate, something similar to Cothurnia, for instance. In any case, we shall never know, unless Rajan can produce some better image.
