I am working on the CFD simulation of supersonic suddenly expanded nozzle flow separation with turbulence modelling (2D axisymmetric). Can you please suggest me the best way to learn post-processing in Ansys Fluent?
I want to plot boundary layer, kinematic viscosity, wall shear stress and other parameters with respect to wall position (x). I have obtained results and validated with experimental results with good accuracy. I have obtained many beautiful contour plots of these parameters, but I am looking for x-y plots and streamline plots. So, please suggest me how to get these from post-processing in fluent, and some best ways to learn more about post-processing.
First you have to select a free stream velocity either by analytical way or by making a line outside the exit and taking area weighted average of the velocity along this line. Now take go for the contour plot and reduce the highest velocity of the plot to 1% of the average velocity. Then you can see a beautiful boundary layer on your screen.
And if you wan't to take out the data do the following
Go to the file tab
select export solution data
select ASCII
select the fluid domain
Select the surface
select the property you want to take out.
Now expert and save the file.
Open this file with excel and you will get your data.
