Earlier I had used Serva IPG Strips in which it was easy to decipher the gel side of the strips but recently we shifted to Bio Rad and here we are encountering this problem. Your valuable suggestions are required.

As all IPG strips come with a plastic overlay, it will be hard to decipher. But once you find out which side is the overlay is it will easy with remaining strips. We have been using GE. Have not tried Biorad yet. GE strips also come with no easy markings. What we do is that, we notice the barcodings and serial number on the first strip. Then we remember the pattern, like if we see the barcodings as miiror image or reversed, its the gel on top. Hope you get what i am trying to tell.
