I am simulating methane - air combustion on Ansys Fluent. I use DO radiation model. I got all the residuals converged except radiation residual. The results look reasonable. The total heat transfer rate and radiation heat transfer rate do not change with time. But the radiation residual is stuck around e^-05.
So can i consider the soulution converged?
Actually if the residual do not change or fluctuate around same value then you can assume your solution to be converged and as you mentioned that your residual is struck at e-5.....It is actually converged.
Hi Mr. Kemal Büyükakın, Since the "Angular Discretization" plays a vital role during the calculation of radiation, you can check the effect of it on your problem. Besides, you can check the role of "Under-Relaxation Factor(URF)" for "Energy"- and "Discrete Ordinate"-equation. However, for further details about the issues as mentioned above, please check the User- and Theory-Guide of Fluent.
If the residual does not change with time, it means that the solution is converged. It can go on and on, but there won't be any change, so you can take it as a converged solution. It happens with me also sometimes.
