I am quite sure you can autoclave it alone and also in some mixtures at lower concentration. I would not autoclave it together with Ca2+ or Mg2+ if their concentration is critical, nort at a low pH becasue it will turn into acetic acid and partly evaporate, make sure your pH is neutral or slightly basic, which it would normally be from Na-Acetate so that's fine. It depends a bit at the final use and how much do you need, if you need liters it is a pain to squeeze through a filter but just a few cl is ok, make sure you filter into a sterile receptacle.....
am going to add 5 ml to 95 ml media for my interest of concentration. the 95 ml of media consist CaCl2 and Mg2So4. i think it is better to autoclave sodium acetate and medium separately
