Can anyone interpret or explain the reason behind some of the hypotheses results I have found. X is significantly related to Y, X has no significant association with Z but Y has a strong positive association with Z?
Considering no cause-effect, correlation is a very likely association.
"Sex frequency is significantly related to Age. Sex frequency has no significant association with Car-crashing but Age has a strong positive association with Car-crashing!"
There is a correlation between Age and Car-Crashing.
Sorry for the silly example, but the other one I have is about drugs...
(1) "X is the spouse of Y", (2) "X does not know Z", (3) "Y is a lover of Z".
Incidentally, I strongly disagree with the the illustrative example given above. I am almost old, but I am the best lover and the best driver in my street. Anyway, I am a very reliable driver.
It is material intrpretation, but name of this relations could be quasi intransitive if A X is transitive to Y but don't ocure transitive to Z. Of course this is not equality relation. Some idea for name this relation.
Mario, it's nice to have a bit of humour in the answers for a change. Using the phrasal verb in both its literal and metaphorical sense, I hope you can keep UP both matters for a long time.
