Can anyone tell if there is any difference between the solubility of various chalcogenides in hydrazine and hydrazine hydrate (HH)? All reported solution-processed chalcogenides are dissolved in hydrazine, hardly found any with HH.

References 40-42 in this article describe the use of hydrazine hydrate as solvent for the synthesis of chalcogenides. The main disadvantage of anhydrous hydrazine is that it is not only highly toxic but also potentially explosive. If at all possible, I would try to avoid working with anhydrous hydrazine.
