Whether there are special mentoring programs for prospective reviewers in tourism science, I do not know ad hoc. But I would not want to rely on this, especially since there are a number of low-threshold opportunities to participate in the scientific discourse as a 'reviewer'. For instance, in each discipline there are relevant scientific journals with appropriate sections in which I can submit small independent reports and articles (such as conference reports or book reviews). Over time, I not only acquired important knowledge and gained basic experience in terms of publications and reviews, but I also slowly became noticed in the scientific community. Then it is usually only a small step to actively participate once in a regular peer review on the relevant example.
