I was very suprised when I started to search for a hybridoma producing an Isotyp for rat IgG1 (such as Clone RTK2071). We need this antobody in large quantities as a control for an depleting antibody of that isotype (in vivo use in mice).
I tought this should be an easy task as there are a lot of different databases supplying hybridomas, but was not able to find any at ATCC, EACC or similar distributors. I hope anybody of you have a helpful and reasonable recommendation.

You may use the GAL 113 clone which is usable in vivo without the risk of adverse effects. In our mIPC depletion model with 120G8, we use polyclonal rat IgG1 as a negative control in vivo. These IgG1 are purified in the same way as the 120G8 clone, from reformed SOPF rat serum. It's cheaper to produce than a perfectly defined clone.
They may not have non-specific controls, but the Developmental Studies Hybridoma Bank does offer some rat hybridomas (e.g. http://dshb.biology.uiowa.edu/ZO-1) and may be worth contacting.
Hi Russell, thjankyou for your suggestion. I have already contacted them and they only have a few rat IgG1 hybridomas, which, more or less, are specific for mostly some murine proteine, so I never can be sure what will happen due an in vivo injection.
@Jean-Jacques: We really need huge amounts so I guess also polyclonal ratIgG1 might be too expensive. Anyway, I am very interested in the clone (GAL113, i guess it was a typo and you meant GL113), you suggested, but could not find it anywhere to purchase.
Do you have any idea or could you maybe share it?
