I need to know a good surfactant or chemical substance that could be added to Hexane, or any other similar non-polar solvents, to stabilize Indium Tin Oxide nano particles in it.
Hexane (and heptane) are non-polar liquids which normally wet most solids very well. It may be that your ITO is hydrophilic and thus hexane is not a suitable continuous phase. The size and density for ITO is probably more relevant for stabilization (i.e. lack of settling). Have you conducted a Stokes' Law equation to get an estimate of the size of particles that may remain in suspension?
