I want to form cellulose sponge using this method "Cellulose was

dissolved in 7% NaOH/12% urea/81% H2O solution at low temperature to obtain a 2 wt % solution. The cellulose solution was centrifuged at 5000 rpm for 10 min to remove some impurities. Subsequently, the desired amount of ECH the mixture was stirred in an ice bath for 1 h to yield a homogeneous solution, and then reacted at 65 C for 2 h. Finally, the resulting cellulose gels were immersed in deionized water to remove the residual reagents

Here in this i am not able to understand what is the amount of ECH is required forming the gel because gel is not form even after 12 hr in at 65 C.

I am adding 1 ml for 27 gm of cellulose solution .

generally ECH and Bisphenol is crosslink in 2:1 ratio for this i want to calculate -OH functional group in cellulose and its Molecular weight
