Yes, you can validate the engineering stress-strain curve and also the deformed shape of coupons (especially fracture shape). There are many training videos for performing a tensile test on youtube. Good luck!

I suspect your approach to this should be reversed. Tensile tests shoild be used to validate FEA, not the other way around.
