I want to measure change of capacitance due to relative displacement between two parallel plates in COMSOL. Distance between two plates changes with time. So I'm using a time dependent study but parameters to calculate capacitance(es.C11) not available after time dependent study from derived values, although in the case of Stationary study capacitance can be calculated using es.C11.Is there a way to do this in COMSOL Multiphysics? Thanks!

If I understood correctly only change is the distance with time. If you know or have the equation for the distance in time, calculate all possible distances and make a "sweep" using time independent study. Hope it works.
@Koray Kaymazlar do you suggest to first calculate distances using time dependent study and then calculate capacitance according to distances analytically?
Menaka Konara No. For example distance d = d0 - vt. Then you can calculate (lets say by hand or coding) and get the values . If you know distances like 10, 9, .....,1. Then using these values make a sweep in COMSOL with time ind study. If you dont know check COMSOL's sweep.
I am not that sure but you probably can compute the distances using COMSOL again by just adding another study but it might be more confusing.
