I have a 3D domain in which where extreme velocity gradients occur at particular regions. Just by refining a whole mesh in the domain, I am able to achieve the convergence at low Reynolds numbers. However, at high Re, the solution starts diverging after initial convergence. To solve this, I have resorted to gradient-based mesh adaption for velocity gradients in Fluent. By changing the values of refine threshold a few cases have been converged. But, not for all cases. I find it very difficult to find the generalized procedure for this adaption. Everything depends on refine threshold what we input. Can someone help me out of this problem?. Is there any procedure for achieving the convergence other than this.
