In my preprint, I explore the connection between motivation and willpower, as well as their

ability to "transfer" from one activity to another. Specifically, when a person faces a task and

experiences difficulty, their body responds by mobilizing resources for willful effort. However,

if such mobilization is insufficient, it might be enhanced by mentally switching to another,

more challenging task. This can stimulate mobilization and increase readiness to return to

the initial task. This model is inspired by the well-known "Rubicon Model."

This approach might be of interest as a method of self-regulation. I would love to hear your

thoughts:

1. Have you ever applied something similar in your practice?

2. Could this idea be further developed scientifically?

3. What other self-regulation methods do you find effective?
