Hello, everyone
Firstly, the problem is demonstrated in the attached files. The third one is the movie of impact process.
I am modelling a concrete beam impact experiment by LS-DYNA. And recently I encoutered a tricky problem. After the impactor contacted with beam for few milliseconds, the hourglass energy curve just raised up radically and the internal energy curve dropped down meanwhile. It seems that a great part of internal energy had transferred into hourglass energy. From the contours of effective plastic strain, it can be observed that half of the beam was undergoing severe strain(its colour became red from the contours). And the beam seem dilated at corner area in some degree, it is not realistic from experiment observation.
For the record, relevant simulation parameters are as followed:
Solid hexagon elements for beam, supports and impactor.
Beam elements for steel rebars.
CSCM material for concrete.
RIGID material for supports and impactor.
Eroding_Surf_to_Surf Contact for impactor&beam.
Auto_Surf_to_Surf Contact for beam&supports.
And I defined the hourglass control as type4, QM=0.03.
Thanks for your attention!
