How to solve “Error in data[, ”study“] == study : comparison of these types is not implemented” in R?

I am conducting a Bayesian network meta-analysis using gemtc package in R. I got this error: "Error in data[, "study"] == study : comparison of these types is not implemented" after conducting the function mtc.anohe which is used to assess heterogeneity and investigate inconsistency via back-calculation.
