How to simulate in EnergyPlus after modifying the source code?

I've changed some equations in one of the .cc files of the source code in EnergyPlus (downloaded from GitHub), but I do know know how to implement that file in the EnergyPlus installation folder in my pc. Has anyone done this successfully?
