Dear all,
I am trying to simulate the enzymatic hydrolysis of sucrose with invertase in CSTR in Comsol. The reaction pathway is such that Sucrose + Water -> Fructose + Glucose. It is desired to remove the fructose and glucose as well as any unconverted sucrose with an ultrafitration (UF) membrane while retaining invertase in the CSTR. I have the Km and kcat values for the reaction.
1. How would i apply the Michalies Menten in comsol as right now, it requires me to input the k1 and k-1 values which i do not have. It is assumed that there would be no product and substrate inhibition due to the efficiency of enzyme chosen.
2. How would i apply mass separation due to molecular weight cut off (MWCO) in Comsol for the UF membrane as well as determining the effects of concentration polarisation?
I am fairly new to COMSOL hence my apologies if these questions appear meaningless.
