It is necessary to set the loading rate very low if one wants to study the dislocation transmission beneath the indentation imprint attributed to the indentation deformation. But if the maximum load is set to a very low value there must be some serious indentation size effect. Choosing a moderately higher load in combination with a very low loading rate makes the whole process enormously time-consuming. So the question is how to optimize these two parameters i.e. load and loading rate so that the dislocation transmission can be studied engaging less time but avoiding indentation size effect. Please suggest.
