I've synthesized surfactant-free gold nanoparticles by generating atmospheric-pressure microplasma on the surface of gold salt (HAuCl4.3H2O) aqueous solution (1 mM) for 10 minutes processing time but I am still having some of the unreduced gold salt in the sample. Given no surfactants or capping agent, the centrifugation didn't work with me. So, I am trying to find any chemical method to remove the rest of gold salt from the gold nanoparticles. Thanks in advance.
Dialysis or ultrafiltration should work. By centrifugation not working, what do you mean? Do not forget that you still have some unreduced gold ions on the surface of the nanoparticles.
